Austin Airport Connections

Getting to the Airport is quicker than ever thanks to the expanded US 183 corridor

It may have been a while since you’ve been to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and we’ve made some changes over the last few years. You now have the option to access the airport without stopping at any traffic signals using the 183 Toll Road or you can travel toll-free via a significantly improved US 183. Pick your preference below and we’ll help guide you to your destination.

HEADING SOUTH ON US 183 FROM I-35 OR US 290:

US 183 Non-Tolled Route

  • Drivers who decide to take non-tolled US 183 will continue south on the non-tolled US 183 running parallel to the 183 Toll Road.
  • After passing through the traffic signal at Loyola you can choose to bypass the traffic signal at FM 969 (MLK Jr. Boulevard) by keeping left and continuing to follow the signs for US 183.
  • As you continue south keep following the signs for US 183 and Montopolis Drive. Also watch for the airplane logo on top of some of the signs.
  • Keep right to go through the Montopolis Drive intersection and continue south past Montopolis Drive.
  • After passing Montopolis Drive, keep left, continue to follow the signs for US 183 and prepare to re-enter the main highway.
  • At this point, the main highway is no longer tolled. Merge across to the left lane and watch for the left exit towards SH 71 East and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
